Covid Protocol

Scenario Corona Measures IWSTH

based on the guidelines of Stichting Vrije Scholen Zuidwest Nederland

Introduction

The Ministry of Education, Culture and Science has made it mandatory for every school to draw up an action plan of corona measures for the school year 2022 – 2023. The underlying idea here is that the national government no longer imposes all measures, but that it indicates which scenario we are in and that a school then reacts with its own plan. This is done as follows:

  • Based on the RIVM's weekly interpretation of the epidemiological situation, the cabinet decides when to scale up or down to another scenario.
  • The schools will implement the corresponding measures as soon as possible (both in the case of upscaling and downscaling), but at the latest within one working week.
  • Because rapid changes in the applicable measures greatly reduce the support for compliance, these measures remain valid for at least two weeks.

On the following pages, the four different scenarios (dark green, green, orange, red) are explained.  Every scenario has a section of 'standard measures', which are measures that are expected from the government.  These measures are cumulative.  Next to them are the extra measures, which each school adds per scenario.

Dark green - present status

Basic measures
  • Basic measures regarding hygiene and health, as they apply society-wide
  • Ensuring good ventilation

No additional measures

Green

Basic + extra attention to people with vulnerable health
  • Extra attention for people with vulnerable health

As soon as it becomes known that scenario green is in force, staff members are informed about the changing scenario within one working day. With this information, attention is given to the measures below.

Tailor-made when it comes to people with vulnerable health. People with vulnerable health can report to their immediate supervisor if they have certain concerns.

Orange

Basic + precaution + limiting contact
  • Use of face masks when moving
  • Use of walking routes
  • Where possible, use the safe distance standard
  • No externals/parents/caregivers in the school
  • Work-from-home advice for staff who don't have to work at school
  • Only education-related activities at school

As soon as it becomes known that scenario orange is in force, staff members, parents/guardians and pupils will be informed within two working days.  With this information, attention is given to the measures below.

As soon as scenario orange is in force, only education-related activities with pupils will take place at school. We do not receive external persons/parents/caregivers at school. Activities where different classes are present in one room also do not take place. This includes communal celebrations and choir lessons. Staff meetings take place digitally as much as possible.

Children and teachers will be compartmentalised into smaller groups or “bubbles.”  A new timetable will be created so that the various groups can enter and exit the building at different times and not come into contact.

To ensure that we can properly adapt the school building and make the necessary arrangements needed for the new scenario, an organisational day can be scheduled. This is a day, or part of a day, on which things such as sticking stickers and drawing up new timetables can take place.

Red

Far-reaching contact-limiting
  • Half of the pupils are at school
  • Intensification of attention to the social function of education

As soon as it becomes known that scenario red is in force, staff members, parents/guardians and pupils will be informed within two working days. With this information, attention is given to the measures below.

The school is divided into two groups.  Each group attends school for half of the school's teaching time.

In the case of category red, extra attention to the social function of education is important.

Kindergarten and class teachers make an effort to ensure that they maintain contact with all of the children in their class.  When children are at school, extra attention is given to activities that involve teamwork and collaboration.

To ensure that we can properly adapt the school building and make the necessary arrangements needed for the new scenario, an organisational day can be scheduled. This is a day, or part of a day, on which things such as the division of the different groups can take place.
